About this video

The journey to publication isn't just about succeeding on the first try; it's about leveraging every opportunity, even in the face of rejection. This webinar is designed for authors navigating the complex world of academic publishing. You will hear from three editors and an author who will share valuable tips and strategies across three key stages of the publication journey:

  • Pre-Submission: Learn how to set realistic expectations and choose the right journal for your submission.
  • Post-Submission: Understand the evolving peer review landscape and the critical role of expert feedback in facilitating your publication, even if it doesn't lead to immediate acceptance.
  • Post-Rejection: Discover effective strategies for submitting to the next journal, with editorial insights and firsthand author experiences.

These perspectives will equip you with comprehensive knowledge of the publication process, helping you achieve your goals more effectively.

Learning outcomes:

  1. Realistic expectations and journal selection: Understand how to set realistic expectations for publishing your paper and learn key considerations for choosing the right journal for your submission
  2. The role of peer review feedback: Gain insights into the evolving landscape of the peer review process and appreciate the importance of expert feedback in enhancing your research and facilitating your publication, even if it doesn't necessarily lead to acceptance
  3. Submission strategies after rejection: Learn effective strategies for submitting to the next journal after rejection, including tips for navigating the process with editorial insights and firsthand author experiences
