Confidence in Communicating Research

Researchers globally feel the need to engage with policy makers, the media and the public. Early Career Researchers (ECRs) especially worry about navigating a polarized landscape filled with misinformation – and they want to speak out confidently and effectively. The 2022 global study Confidence in Research: Researchers in the Spotlight highlighted the challenges of communicating research in a world lacking shared understanding of research practices. The rise of generative AI has only intensified these challenges.

Building on these insights, Elsevier has partnered with Sense about Science – an independent charity that promotes the public interest in sound science and evidence – to create the "Confidence in Communicating Research" webinar series. These webinars, co-created with research leaders, ECRs and science organizations, aim to equip researchers to tackle misinformation and convey complex topics like research integrity and uncertainty.

Each webinar also offers resources and training collated from partners around the world, to enhance your communication skills, helping you confidently discuss the societal impacts of your research.
