How to master writing a case report

About this video

This Master Class: Writing a Case Report is designed to guide clinicians, researchers, and trainees through the essential steps of conceptualizing, writing, and publishing impactful case reports. Led by editors from Gynecologic Oncology Reports, this session offers a unique opportunity to learn from experts intimately familiar with the editorial process, while providing insights that are broadly applicable across clinical oncology and related fields.
This webinar will demystify the process, starting from selecting a compelling case that adds meaningful knowledge to the literature, through performing a thorough literature search, to organizing and drafting each manuscript section with clarity and precision.

Participants will explore best practices in authorship roles, ethical considerations including plagiarism avoidance and patient consent, and strategies for targeting the right journals to maximize impact and visibility. The session will emphasize how to develop an effective abstract, craft a concise introduction, a detailed and chronological case presentation, and a discussion that contextualizes findings within current evidence and highlights future research directions. Attendees will also learn how to navigate the submission and revision process with confidence, including managing co-author reviews and conflict of interest disclosures.
