About this video
Prof Schraudner explains that when achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls we need to look far beyond increasing their representation. We should be taking into account the gender dimension when collecting data for any of the SDGs. For example, the OECD’s latest report stated that there are no gender related data available for: Renewable Energy (SDG7), Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10) and Sustainable Cities (SDG 11). Also for: Clean Water and Sanitary (SDG6), Responsible Consumption (SDG12), Climate action (SDG 13), life below water (SDG14) and Life on land (SDG15). Sex and gender analysis is a tool to integrate the perspective of all groups in society into topics like infrastructure, clean water and sanitation, responsible consumption and so on.
