Dr. Alessia Amodio

Alessia Amodio is a Policy and Project Officer at European Commission, DG RTD. She joined DG RTD in March 2020 and she contributes to the design of the EU research policy in the domains of advanced materials and nanotechnologies and manages a portfolio of projects funded by the NMBP programme. Prior to joining the EC, she obtained her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Chemistry from University of Rome Tor Vergata, and a PhD in Nanotechnology from University of Trieste.
She was visiting PhD-student in the USA in 2015. She has been awarded the REAXYS SCI Young Researcher Award in 2015, the Levi Award 2016, she has 10 peer-reviewed publications. She was a trainee at EFSA in 2018. She was granted an Endeavour Research Fellowship in 2016 from the Australian Government for a 6-month research period at the University of Melbourne and the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship 2017 from the EC.
