Abhishek Dutta, PhD
Associate Professor, Izmir Institute of Technology
Abhishek Dutta holds a PhD from Ghent University, Belgium in Chemical Engineering. After postdoctoral research at Ghent University, and several years of teaching and research at KU Leuven and subsequently a short research stint at UCLouvain, he left for Turkey and is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Izmir Institute of Technology. As a Research Leader of Industrial Flow & Process Modeling Group (iFPMg), he focuses mainly on energy-efficiency for the improvement of existing and development of new processes, resource-efficiency involving complex hydrodynamic and cost-efficiency valorising waste resource recovery towards carbon footprint reduction. Dr. Dutta is also the Co-chair of the Computational Science & Engineering Department at Izmir Institute of Technology since 2024 and focuses on industry-oriented research with a focus on digitalization for Industry 4.0. The research group iFPMg designs – models - validates intensified processes mainly for (petro)chemical, pulp and paper, wastewater and metallurgical industries.
